Tucker Carlson’s Claim of Imminent US Nuclear Strike on Iran Remains Unverified
The commentator alleges Netanyahu is pressing Trump to target Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain, but no official confirmation or verifiable evidence supports the claim.
Photo: Generated by Breaking Global News.A claim that the United States could launch a nuclear strike against Iran within days has spread widely online after US commentator Tucker Carlson published a lengthy statement alleging pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Carlson identified Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain tunnel complex, near the Natanz nuclear facility, as the alleged target. He claimed that conventional US weapons could not destroy the underground site and that Netanyahu was urging President Donald Trump to consider a nuclear option.
Carlson cited unnamed sources for parts of his account but did not provide independently verifiable evidence showing that the US administration is preparing a nuclear strike or that Netanyahu has made such a request. No official confirmation of the alleged nuclear plan has emerged from Washington or Jerusalem.
The Pickaxe Mountain complex is a real underground site near Natanz that has drawn attention because of its suspected connection to Iran’s nuclear programme. Its precise purpose, depth and internal facilities have been subjects of public reporting and analysis.
The claims have also been discussed against the backdrop of renewed tensions between Washington and Tehran. However, the possibility of further conventional military action should not be confused with evidence of a decision to use nuclear weapons.
In public remarks in October, Trump rejected the idea of using a nuclear weapon against Iran, describing the suggestion as unnecessary. Reporting by The War Zone also noted that a White House official said Carlson had no insight into the president’s military planning or thinking.
Carlson has warned that a nuclear attack could trigger a wider global conflict. That is a prediction, not an established outcome. As of November 3, no publicly verified evidence confirms that a US nuclear strike on Iran is imminent.
The central allegation therefore remains unverified. The existence of the Pickaxe Mountain site and ongoing regional tensions do not, by themselves, establish that a nuclear attack has been planned.
