North Korea fired multiple missiles toward waters off its east coast on November 4, South Korea's Defence Ministry said. The launch marks Pyongyang's fourth weapons test in a month, amid rising tensions with Washington and renewed disagreement over allegations of North Korean involvement in the Binance cryptocurrency theft.
North Korea launches multiple missiles
North Korea fired multiple missiles toward the sea off its eastern coast on Wednesday, November 4, South Korea's Defence Ministry said. The launches mark the country's fourth weapons test in approximately one month, highlighting continued military activity on the Korean Peninsula.
South Korea's military detected the missiles being launched from the Sondok area on North Korea's eastern coast. South Korean and US authorities are analysing the details of the launches, including the weapons' specifications and flight characteristics.
Seoul said its military remains prepared to respond to potential provocations.
Launches follow rejection of US dialogue
The missile launches came hours after Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, ruled out dialogue with Washington under what she described as the United States' hostile policy toward North Korea.
She also rejected US accusations that North Korean hackers were responsible for the major cryptocurrency theft involving Binance.
The FBI has attributed the theft to North Korean hackers associated with the TraderTraitor group. Pyongyang has denied responsibility and described the US announcement as a political provocation.
North Korea continues weapons development
North Korea has conducted a series of weapons tests this year, including tests involving hypersonic weapons and other missile systems.
